Please join us in the culmination of a month long celebration of the ASPCA’s National Help a Horse Day with PETE’s Party!  Pete is a 30 year old miniature horse who was a much loved show horse and pet, until a tragic health issue prevented his family from caring for him.  He came to us to ensure his future health and happiness.  Pete inspired the creation of this year’s campaign, P.E.T.E, which stands for Protecting Equines Through Education.  In this spirit, the month of April will be spent with Pete and his friends visiting area feed stores to educate the public about horses, animal welfare, and ensuring that pets have a plan in case of unexpected life events.

PETE’s Party will be fun for all ages.  For the kids there will be a coloring contest with prizes in three age groups, crafts, games, and educational stations.  Guest miniature horses Chip and Dale will offer a kissing booth, and Jax the kangaroo will make an appearance for something new to see!

For the adult crowd, we will offer PETE’s After Party!  A selection of local wines and beer growlers will be available in a blind drawing.  Purchase a ticket and draw a number to find out which you win to take home!

In addition, you can tour the facility, see all the improvements made over the past year, meet the volunteers that run the rescue, and visit with the horses available for adoption.  Of course there will be lots of raffles, a 50/50, awesome food and tons of fun!

Sponsorships of PETE’s Party are available!  Donate $100. or a beer/wine value of $100. and get a banner advertisement to be displayed in our arena!  Please contact harriettr@aol.com to become a sponsor.
