There are several ways you can help us to improve the lives of neglected and forgotten horses. Please consider joining us in our cause, to ensure the safety and happiness of each horse we touch!
Make a Donation
Our organization depends solely on the kindhearted donations of supporters like you. We accept donations via Paypal or you may send us a check directly to our PO Box. Donate money.
Sponsor a Horse
Begin Again Horse Rescue (BAHR) is funded solely from donor support, occasional grants and our adoption fees, so Sponsors go a long way in keeping our barn doors open and the hay loft full. Our monthly costs to care for the horses that we rescue and rehabilitate can average up to $7,500 a month. These costs include one paid employee who gives the horses stability and routine, feed, hay, bedding, veterinarian, farrier, outside training for difficult cases and other bills like electricity and farm maintenance. It all adds up. Sponsorships can be a one-time gift or may continue until the horse you support is adopted. We offer several levels of Sponsorships:
- Full Sponsor: $200/month covers ALL care- feed, shelter, vet and farrier
- 3/4 Sponsor: $150/month covers feed, shelter, and basic vet care
- 1/2 Sponsor: $100/month covers grain and some hay
- 1/4 Sponsor: $50/month covers grain only
We always welcome visitors (by appointment) and encourage you to spend some time with “your” horse.

Volunteer Your Time
Do you have experience with horses and live in the area? Do you work well with people, have computer, organizational, or leadership skills? We would love to have you join us in keeping our group moving forward on our mission! There are regularly scheduled volunteer work times at the facility and fundraising events constantly in planning. Volunteer information.
Foster a Horse
If you would like to help a certain horse, but cannot commit to being a forever home, consider fostering. Finding the perfect family for a horse can take weeks, months, or longer. You help a horse and create room for another to be accepted into the program by keeping your foster horse with you. Winter is an especially difficult time for adoptions and caring for the rescues, so foster homes are greatly appreciated! For more an application to foster, click here.
Adopt a Horse
Of course, we would love to see you adopt one of our horses in need. But we also want to be sure it is the right horse for you and the right home for the horse. For more information, click here.
We would not survive without the generous contributions from these organizations. Please click on each link to find out more about them and what they do!
